Barcelona!
View pictures in Picasa Web Albums.
So we've been in Barcelona for for two nights now and were able to see a lot of the city already - apparently Lindsey and are are very efficient travellers. It also helps that Barcelona is significantly smaller than Paris and has a fairly efficient metro system, though it is nothing compared to the metro in Paris.
We were both exhausted our first night here after a busy four days in Paris, so took the night to do laundry and get some tapas and wine at a local restaurant called "Qu Qu". They were all very good, as was the staple bread with tomato that is normally served with a meal.
Yesterday we visited a few of Antoni Gaudi's architectural works including La Pedrera and La Segrada Familia, which is a work in progress, but still has beautiful facades and stained class windows. Both were beautiful and modern structures.
In the afternoon we headed down to Las Ramblas where there are lots of shops and restaurants (and tourists too, of course). We got falafel for lunch and some fresh fruit from a market and walked to some more sites nearby. We ultimately got paella and sangria for dinner and headed back for a few drinks at the hostel, which has it own bar that´s only open to the guests. We met a few Irish students and headed back out for another drink with them before finally crashing. Although the bars closed at 2 am - when we finally ventured home - the clubs are in full swing and stay open until 7 am. I certainly don't think I could keep up.
Today, we're heading to the Barcelona Zoo and then will see what happens from there.
